Privacy & Security Statement
Dashboard Announcements for Jira
This statement explains how the Jira Cloud app processes, stores, and protects information when customers use the dashboard announcement gadget.
Summary
Dashboard Announcements for Jira is a lightweight Jira Cloud dashboard gadget that lets dashboard editors publish one current announcement for viewers of that dashboard.
Information Processed by the App
The app processes only the information needed to display and edit a dashboard announcement:
- Announcement content entered by dashboard editors, such as text, formatting, links, and simple table content.
- Dashboard gadget configuration and related metadata, such as whether a notice has been configured and when it was updated.
- Atlassian app context required by Jira Cloud and Forge to render the gadget and enforce the user's product permissions.
Customers should avoid placing sensitive personal, financial, medical, credential, or regulated information inside announcement content.
Storage and Hosting
Announcement content and configuration are stored within Atlassian-hosted Jira Cloud or Forge app services. The app does not maintain an independent external database operated by the partner.
Data residency for in-scope end-user data follows the Atlassian Cloud and Forge platform capabilities available for the customer's Atlassian site.
External Sharing and Subprocessors
The app does not intentionally send announcement content to third-party services. It does not expose remote REST APIs for integration with other tools and does not use third-party analytics or advertising providers.
Atlassian Cloud and Forge platform services may process data as part of hosting, authentication, authorization, and operation of Marketplace apps.
Logs
The app does not intentionally log announcement content or other end-user data. Platform-level operational logs, if any, are handled by Atlassian Cloud or Forge services according to Atlassian's platform practices.
Security Practices
- The app relies on Atlassian account authentication and Jira dashboard permissions.
- The app does not request Atlassian personal access tokens, user passwords, or shared secrets from end users.
- The app is designed with limited data handling and no vendor-operated remote data store.
- Security issues can be reported to the contact email below.
Retention and Deletion
The app does not keep a separate vendor copy of announcement data. Deleting or reconfiguring the dashboard gadget removes the visible announcement from that dashboard. Any remaining platform records are handled through Atlassian Cloud and Forge retention processes.
Customers can contact the partner for help with privacy or security questions related to app data handling.
