Dashboard Announcements for Jira
A quick guide for adding and editing the Jira Cloud dashboard announcement gadget.
What the App Does
Dashboard Announcements for Jira adds a lightweight announcement gadget to Jira Cloud dashboards. Each gadget displays one current announcement for people who can view that dashboard.
Add the Gadget to a Dashboard
- Open the Jira Cloud dashboard where the notice should appear.
- Add the Dashboard Announcements gadget to the dashboard.
- Place the gadget where the team can easily see it.
Edit an Announcement
- Open the dashboard containing the gadget.
- Edit the gadget configuration.
- Enter the current announcement content.
- Save the dashboard gadget configuration.
The current version supports rich text announcement content, including simple formatting, links, and table content.
Viewer and Editor Behavior
- Dashboard viewers can read the announcement in the gadget.
- Dashboard owners or editors can update the gadget configuration.
- A dashboard can contain more than one announcement gadget when a team needs separate notices in different dashboard areas.
Current Limits
- The app does not provide global Jira banners.
- The app does not include scheduling or read confirmations.
- The app does not send notifications.
- The app does not provide analytics or read statistics.
